Keystone Photographers bio picture

Welcome!

Keystone Photographers is us - Kent and Sean. We are wedding photojournalists that specialize in destination mountain weddings at Keystone Resort and the surrounding area.

Kent is an award-wedding newspaper photographer and worked for 10 years as a staff photojournalist for the Denver Post. Kent applied his talents to wedding photography starting in 2000 and is currently ranked by the Wedding Photojournalist Association 15th in the world and 1st in Colorado.

I worked as a staff photojournalist for several daily newspapers and as an award-winning freelance newspaper and magazine photojournalist for 12 years. I started photographing weddings in 2001. I was voted Best Photographer by the readers of weekly newspaper the Colorado Springs Independent in 2008.

Kent and I began Keystone Photographers two years ago because we realized a need for wedding photojournalism focused exclusively on destinations weddings in the mountains. We are comfortable working with couples planning their wedding long-distance. We are also a resource for our brides and grooms and can provide referrals to the best locations and service providers in the Rocky Mountains.

Our Approach

We love to photograph weddings because it's the perfect event for photojournalism. We photograph the action as it happens. We prefer to blend into the scene, not to direct it. We photograph the big personalities, the quiet moments, and the emotional highs. A wedding day never stops moving and neither do we.

The result of all of this?

The story of your wedding day in honest and beautiful imagery as told by your wedding photojournalist.

Both are Colorado Mountain people at heart so getting married outdoors at 10,200 feet elevation with breathtaking views of the Gore Mountain Range and the Eagle River Valley was a perfect match.

Carolyn Moorman of Artisan Events did an amazing job of hand crafting their wedding with great attention to every detail. Artisan Events.

Chelsea and Mike were married at Timber Ridge Out Post on top of Keystone Mountain Ski Area at 11,500 feet elevation. Timber Ridge. Timber Ridge maybe the ultimate mountain top location for a wedding in Colorado! The views of the Gore Mountain Range are a site to behold. It requires two gondola rides from the base of Keystone to get there and it’s worth the ride. Click here to see a brief slideshow of their wedding day. Cheers, Kent

Keystone Wedding Planner cover photo by Kent Meireis/Keystone Photographers

This is the first post of our new blog www.keystonephotographers.com. Nothing could be more appropriate than the cover of the Keystone Resort Wedding Planner. It’s hot off the press and a photograph I made of Rachel and Matt’s wedding from 2007 is featured on the cover! The picture was made with a digital camera converted to capture infrared images:) In this photograph I used the old wagon outside Keystone Ranch to frame the couple.
